LEDs
A light emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an electric current passes through it. LEDs require a driver which is comparable to the ballast in fluorescent fixtures.
Individual LEDs are considerably more efficient, as they do not produce heat like incandescent bulbs. LEDs are single directional light and have a long life compared to incandescent lighting. They do not burn out like traditional lighting, but rather gradually decrease in light output. Uses include:
